Welcome to the Office of Human Resources

Human Resources maintains a supportive role within the overall mission of Shawnee State University
Human Resources' (HR) mission is to provide exceptional employee services, and present leadership and guidance on strategic and key operational affairs. HR is dedicated to maintaining a strong partnership with the University community, developing more effective and efficient processes, strengthening the capability of the University's labor, policy, and compliance infrastructure, and focusing on staff development opportunities.

We are excited to announce Student Authorization to Hire forms and Student New Hire Paperwork is now available under the Student Employment section of the Human Resources web page through DocuSign.

Supervisors can access the authorization to hire forms under “Supervisor (Administrative) Responsibilities.”  In order to initiate an authorization to hire for a new or continuing student employee, you will click on the link for the applicable Authorization to Hire and complete the form. Once you have completed the form, the electronic workflow process is initiated. Once the authorization to hire has completed the electronic workflow and been approved, you will receive a copy of the completed document via email. Lastly, you can create a DocuSign account to access all of your documents. Please setup your account using your SSU email.

As of today students will no longer be able to complete paper copies of the new hire paperwork in our office.  Students will have to complete their new hire paperwork through DocuSign. However, students WILL have to visit HR prior to the start of work to complete retirement and I-9 forms (all new employees are still required to present documents for work eligibility verification). To complete the Student New Hire Paperwork, click on the “Student Employment New Hire Paperwork” link located under the section “Student Employment New Hire Paperwork and Information.” Once the student has completed their new hire paperwork our office will be notified via email.
