Student Success and Retention

Student Retention

What is Retention?

Once a student is enrolled at Shawnee State University, the faculty and staff are charged with the responsibility to create a climate and environment that helps a student achieve his or her goals including graduation.

Student retention not only means helping students achieve their goals, retention includes the cultivation and promotion of relationships, which foster student success.

Retention involves collecting, reporting and disseminating of data, fostering accountability among faculty, staff and students and developing programs to promote mentor/mentee relationships among faculty, staff and students.
